CHARA = Joy! :)

So I am extremely excited about the amazing dance Michelle, the Social Chair of Chara, is choregraphing. It is amazing and so powerful, I cannot wait to perform it in front of an audience. It has a powerful message.... you will just have to wait and see!

Last Sunday, Chara perfomed at MSC open house in the MIDDLE of the FLAG ROOM! How cool is that? I wish I had a picture to show you, because it was an amazing experience! It was really exciting to be able to minister to anyone who stops to watch. I love watching the audience as they take in the lyrics and see them come to life in our dancing. I LOVE CHARA!

I am extremely excited about tomorrow night! It is CHARA NIGHT OUT! The event is a surprise to everyone except Michelle, who is planning it of course. I will have to update you all when I get back from the event. Stay tuned.....

P.S.- Everyone SAVE THE DATE for May 2nd and 3rd, Chara will be performing in our annual "Art of Worship" performance! It shall be a great experience!

New Beginnings

Phew, it has been a while! I've been quite busy within the first few weeks of the New Year. I decided to be brave and take a 2-week mini-mester distance learning from Texas A&M! I know you're probably thinking I am just crazy, but I actually enjoyed it! The class was on "Teaching Exceptional, Diverse, and At Risk Students in the General Education Classroom". I just love all of my education classes here at A&M, all of the professors are just wonderful and have a lot of passion for the education system!

Spring semester started yesterday and it just feels like the break went by so fast! I'll be glad to finally get back into a routine and see what i've gotten myself into by taking 15 hours! Now, you are probably asking yourself "why are you taking so many hours and doing mini-mesters?", well i am desperately trying to get that "little ring of gold" on my finger called an Aggie Ring! I need 45 resident semester hours here at A&M in order to just order it! If I follow my plan that my advisor and I decided on I will be able to order it in December and get it in March or April of 2010! WHOOP!

Finally, I urge you all to pray hard for our country. I did watch the inauguration yesterday to witness history, but I noticed that our country is so so hungry for this thing called "hope". Hope can be found in God alone, we don't need someone who we don't even know if we can trust to give it to us. Alright, i'll get off my soap box now!

*Put all your trust in God and you will recieve the desires of your heart* :)

Goodbye 2008, Hello 2009

I've been quite sad to say "Goodbye 2008" because it was such a great year for me! Lets review:

1) I was accepted to Texas A&M University, the biggest goal I have ever achieved and the biggest blessing from God!

2) I was able to join Chara Christian Dance Company, another big blessing from God! I have always known that God wanted me to join a Christian Dance Company as a way to thank and praise Him for giving me this amazing gift to only give glory to Him! I also gained 14 amazing friends who are full of God's love and enjoy spreading His word as much as i do!

3) Experiencing life at A&M! It is more than I ever would have imagined! God really outdid himself with this one! I grew so much in Him and in general daily life! It was so great to meet other girls through Aggie Sisters for Christ who are on the same journey as me!

4) The level of Academic difficulty at Texas A&M is much higher than what I was used to and i throughly enjoyed the challenge and really succeeded way past my expectations. God is good!

5) Finding out that my good friend Stephanie was accepted to A&M for Spring 2009! I am so excited to show her around campus and introduce her to ASC and all of the amazing places around College Station! Congrats Stephanie! :)

As you can see I had a pretty great year and I was really sad to say Goodbye, but it is in God's hands now to see how 2009 will come about. I'm really excited and can't wait to see what new and exciting things are in store for me.

On New Year's Eve, I put together a "21 New Year Resolutions" list since I will be turning 21 this year! We spent New Years with my dad's side of the family and welcomed the new year with spunky hats/tiaras, noise makers, and champagne! I realize now just how blessed I am to be surrounded by amazing family members who love and care for each other, again God is good! :)

I hope everyone has a great 2009!

In Him,
Emily
